On December 30, the final meeting of the Academic Council for the current year was held at Samarkand State Medical University. The meeting was opened by the rector of the university Jasur Rizaev, who made an opening speech, congratulated the team on the upcoming 2026 and wished everyone success in scientific, professional and personal activities.

The work of the Academic Council began with summing up the results of the year, discussing the work done, the results achieved and the new opportunities created. During 2025, Samarkand State Medical University achieved significant success in scientific, practical, educational and organizational spheres.

As a result of the work done, the university for the first time entered the list of the world's top 1000 higher education institutions (group 601-800) according to THE Impact Rankings 2025, published by one of the most authoritative international ranking agencies — Times Higher Education (THE). This achievement opens wide international prospects for university graduates.

During the meeting of the Academic Council, teachers who received academic degrees were awarded corresponding diplomas and certificates. In addition, on the occasion of Medical Worker's Day, winners of the competition among teaching staff in various nominations were awarded special diplomas and statuettes.
